PLYMOUTH, MA (April 11, 2001) - Harvest®Technologies Corp announced introduction of a simple, easy-to-use, autologous pro-coagulant kit for use with its SmartPReP Platelet Rich Plasma System. The pro-coagulant kit is designed specifically for the international markets. Harvest Technologies becomes the first and only company to offer a platelet rich plasma (PRP) system made entirely from the patient's own blood.
The Harvest Technologies pro-coagulant system requires only 10 cc of the patient's blood. The pro-coagulant is produced within the specialized SmartPReP centrifuge in parallel with the production of PRP. When mixed with the pro-coagulant, the PRP forms a clot that initiates the release of wound healing and bone growth proteins contained within the concentrated platelets.
Harvest established Harvest GmbH in Munich, Germany to market its SmartPReP System and associated disposables. Harvest recently received CE mark registration for the pro-coagulant system and will introduce the product over the next several months.
